The Vampiro cocktail is a crazy concentrate of Mexican flavors, gathered in what is an intense, full-bodied drink, where tomato juice is the protagonist. Do not think that it is a simple tequila remastered Bloody Mary! It is much more and if you like spicy flavors, this is the cocktail for you!
Among all the cocktails the Vampire is one of the most extreme for aromatic arrogance, fullness, and complexity, even if in the end all the flavors converge to find an incredible harmony.
Let’s see the ingredients of the Vampiro cocktail: alcoholic base of tequila, tomato juice, orange and lime juice, acacia honey, a little bit of onion, chili pepper, salt and Worcestershire sauce. It seems a shopping list rather than a cocktail, yet all these ingredients manage to stay together, thanks to the binding power of tomato and pepper.
The official IBA recipe of the Vampiro includes tequila, but it is strongly recommended a good mezcal, much more characteristic and full, with wonderful smoky notes.
As a cocktail, the Vampire is considered a simple long drink. Difficult to recommend as an aperitif, it is quite challenging, even if it is true that as a thirst-quenching drink or to accompany meals it is truly exceptional. Then if you are on a diet, order only the drink and consider it a barely alcoholic gazpacho.

Nothing difficult, but a bit of work is needed to prepare all the ingredients, which, ca va sans dire, must be fresh and of excellent quality.
