The Russian Spring Punch cocktail has now entered the Olympus of sparkling drinks, establishing itself as one of the most aromatic and delightful.

It is an easy cocktail to make, immediate in its aromatic explosiveness, thanks to easily recognizable ingredients, especially the black currant liqueur, the famous créme de cassis. As you may have noticed, there is a play on words with the title: you know that punches are rum-based cocktails, but in this case, we are talking about a punch revisited in Russian sauce, so the distillate used is the dear, old vodka.

But let’s see in detail the ingredients of the Russian Spring Punch: vodka, which must be soft and elegant. Lemon juice, sugar syrup, and finish with créme de cassis, a small French work of art that we have already seen in iconic cocktails such as the Kir Royal or the Diablo cocktail. Also, in this case, do not use poor products, but only artisan liqueurs; otherwise, leave it alone and make a  simple Moscow Mule. You need to finish with a top of sparkling wine, just a bit to give liveliness to the cocktail. Do not use the cheap Prosecco. Never. You would ruin this delicate cocktail. Franciacorta and Champagne are fine.

Ingredients and doses to make the Russian Spring Punch cocktail

2.5 cl of lemon juice
2.5 cl of vodka
1.5 cl of créme de cassis
