Ingredients
-
3 cl of gin
-
3 cl of sweet vermouth
-
3 cl of orange juice
Directions
The Orange Blossom cocktail is an old glory of the Prohibition, a simple blend of gin and orange juice to serve with ice: it’s the British version of the Screwdriver cocktail. Be careful, however, the classic Orange Blossom recipe, the one we also find in Harry Craddock’s Savoy Cocktail Book, is made of juice and gin, but nowadays the mainstream recipe has been softened by a 1/3 of sweet vermouth, transforming the Orange Blossom in a perfect trifecta with 1/3 of gin, 1/3 of orange juice and 1/3 of sweet vermouth.
History of the Orange Blossom cocktail
There is no noteworthy news, adding orange juice was the classic way to make the rough distillates produced in basements and clandestine distilleries drinkable.
