Ingredients
-
5 cl of white rum
-
10 cl of chinotto
-
1 cl of orange juice
-
orange slice
Directions
Chinotto is one of the greatest Italian drinks, perhaps the most typical and particular, it would be a shame to not use it properly to make new cocktails. Forget about coke and its unbearable sweetness and switch to Chinotto and every cocktail will instantly become more subtle and nuanced, with a clean and aromatic touch.
The first cocktail that comes to mind is Cuba Libre: cola, rum and lime juice, but try the Cubotto and you’ll discover a new frontier of taste.
It is much more clear, fresh and elegant, but mostly less sweet: if you are of those who always left half a bottle of cola on the table when you drink Cuba libre, now you know what to mix.

How to prepare the Cubotto cocktail
First thing, we are going to replace lime with orange juice, which, for obvious reasons, is more congenial.
Squeeze half orange, then strain the juice.
Put 5-6 ice cubes in a tumbler, pour juice, white rum and fille with Chinotto and there you have a phenomenal cocktail, refreshing and much less sugary than the classic Cuba Libre.
