Directions
Rum has the incredible ability to take endless forms, colors and flavors in cocktails, thanks to its mellifluous roundness.
It is great for hot punches or summer cocktails like Cuba Libre, don’t forget that rum is the king of sour cocktails.
As Mephistophelian and charming is tequila with its flavor reminiscent of the night the Mexican desert, Daiquiri has a sobriety and an aromatic composure that is unrivaled.
So today our classic Daiquiri is tinged with a pink touch because we want to make it not with lime, but pink grapefruit (and fennel seeds).
The result is a fresh and edgy cocktail, but sumptuous, long on the palate, with a more bitter and complex finish than the original Daiquiri.
A variation that we are working on is the addition of fennel seeds. Just put a half teaspoon of seeds in the shaker and muddle to amplify the flavor of grapefruit with a balsamic note.
