Every time I eat a slice of watermelon, an idea comes to mind for a new cocktail. This delicious fruit is an inexhaustible source of inspiration: sometimes, I wish summer would never end.
Agua de Vida is a typically summery cocktail in the colors and, above all, in the aromas.
It is bright, with an elegant and compact profile, with the sweetness of watermelon that slowly fades into the aromatic taste of tequila, passing through the irresistible charge of Chambord, the famous raspberry liqueur from the Loire Valley.
Lemon, as always, is the icing on the cocktail with its persuasive aromas and incredible freshness.
Agua de Vida is a classic aperitif cocktail, ideal as a refreshing drink and suitable for fish dishes, finger food, or to brighten up a brunch in this bubbling summer.
Agua de Vida cocktail ingredients and doses
- 4 cl of tequila
- 1 cl of Chambord
- 1 cl of crème de menthe
- 1/2 lemon
- 30 grams of watermelon
How to prepare the Agua de Vida cocktail
Effortless preparation, like a caipirinha: cut the watermelon into cubes and the lemon into wedges, put in a glass with the Chambord and the crème de menthe, and pound.
Fill with ice, pour in the tequila, and stir with a teaspoon. Garnish with a watermelon wedge.
Sugar is not needed since it is the Chambord that acts as a sweetener: for a less sweet cocktail, adjust the dose of the liqueur.
