Once you discover Matcha you won’t abandon it anytime soon, especially when you will start making delicious cocktails with this green delight.
The charge of energy, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins given by Matcha is impressive, but above all natural, so forget about supplements and energy drinks, which are not very healthy, and buy yourself a little bit of this fairy dust: it’s not cheap, but you have to sipped it.
The composition of the cocktail is very oriental, because as main ingredients we have Matcha and Soju, the famous Korean spirit, distilled from rice.
Soju is not so great if you drink it straight, but if well mixed, it can become an interesting spirit, not a masterpiece, but potable yes. And it would be nice to broaden our horizons and explore new distillates and not remain chained to the usual archetypes. One day we will make a column: “Around the World in 80 spirits”, maybe…
In any case, we are not speaking about an exotic or strange flavor: Soju is usually around 20 degrees and characterized by a fairly neutral flavor that recalls vodka.
But let’s come back to our cocktail: we can we find in this luscious drink? Freshness, from celery, mysterious aromas, herby flavors from Matcha and finally the alcohol recall of Soju. The perfect combo? Let’s find out!
Hulk’s Punch cocktail ingredients
- 5 cl of Soju
- 1 cl of vodka
- 40 grams of celery
- 1/2 teaspoon of Matcha
- 1 cl lime cordial
- 1 cl sugar syrup
How to prepare the Hulk’s Punch cocktail
Dissolve Matcha in hot water and stir.
Centrifuge a piece of celery, if you don’t have the spin-dryer just grate it, squeeze it in a bowl the extract the juice and pass through a sieve pressing the flesh with a spoon.
Fill a tumbler with ice, pour all the ingredients and stir gently. For a more stylish presentation, prepare the drink in the mixing glass, pour in a well-chilled Martini glass and then garnish with a slice of kiwi.
And here you have a delicious, zen cocktail, with an irresistible “oriental flavor”, very rich and sharp, good for meditation or as an aperitif.
But be careful not to drink too many of these drinks, considering the “energy effects” of Matcha, you shouldn’t drink no more than one, otherwise goodbye sleep.
