Directions
The Fuzzy Navel is a classic American cocktail that has kept us company since 1980 when we want a simple, unpretentious and never too demanding drink. The partnership of the cocktail is attributed to Ray Foley.
The recipe and the ingredients are nothing special: mix in equal parts fresh orange juice and peach schnapps, put some ice and enjoy an immediate cocktail, which finds great balance in these two ingredients alone.
Orange juice is aromatic and sharp while peach schnapps is mellow and sweet, basically the Screwdriver’s sweet cousin.
It is no coincidence that vodka returns if you want to make a Hairy Navel, put half peach schnapps and half vodka: in this way the cocktail is much more alcoholic, but at the same time more direct and rough.
If you want to add a drop of ginger beer or angostura or cucumber bitters do it, they don’t hurt.

How to make the Fuzzy Navel cocktail
Squeeze the orange and filter the juice.
Put some ice in a collins or old-fashioned glass, pour the peach schnapps, the orange juice, stir and decorate as desired.
The doses of the Fuzzy Navel cocktail vary according to your mood, the time you drink it and the season. If you drink it as an aperitif do not overdo the doses, 5-6 cl are fine. The proportions are always 50% juice and 50% peach schnapps: you can’t go wrong.
