The Monkey Brain is a spectacular cocktail, but with a disturbing aspect. It is a cocktail shot, a shot, to be made in chupito-type glasses and to do so you have to pour some grenadine over a layer of vodka and another layer of whiskey cream, which thanks to the weight of the grenadine will fall on the bottom of the glass in the form of pieces of the monkey brain.

The cocktail itself does not have a legendary flavor, however, the preparation and the final effect of this brain chupito are noteworthy. If desired, you can also add blue curacao to make the effect even more disgusting, but the grenadine is already more than enough.

Ingredients and doses for making the Monkey Brain cocktail

  • 2 cl of vodka
  • 2 cl of whiskey cream
  • 1 cl of grenadine

How to make the Monkey Brain Cocktail

The preparation of this shot is very simple. Remember to put underneath, in the first layer, the less dense liquid, with the lower specific weight, then the vodka.

You can also add a splash of lemon to help the whiskey cream clump more easily.

In any case, there are three methods at this point. You can pour the whiskey cream gently and then drop drops of grenadine to make lumps. This way the brown and red brain pieces will mix creating a more simian, but confusing effect.

Or you can drop the whiskey cream from a spoon in well-separated drops, to make it clump and go to the bottom. Then you can also add the grenadine always with a spoon to recreate the blood effect.

Another variation of the monkey brain cocktail involves first putting the grenadine to make a red layer, then the vodka and finally you have to drop the whiskey cream from above to make it sink.
