It is a bit that the Teddy cocktail was coming back and forth in our mind, still not with a completely defined shape, but a seed was sown.
But what is special about this new cocktail?
Well, we could say it is a waterfall of freshness, but supported by the glowing and spicy verve of whisky.
To be honest, you cannot find enough whiskey-based cocktails. How many can you sip? Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, ok, fine, don’t forget about the Mint Julep and Rusty Nail. Yeah, they are delicious, but they are very strong cocktails perfect for robust palates accustomed to a certain intensity of flavors and alcohol.
Then how to play down the might of whiskey, without distorting or cover its beautiful scents?
Just add ginger, ginger beer, apple juice and a little spoon of honey and you’ll have a super tasty whiskey long drink, but lightened by the pungent charm of ginger beer.
We have not invented anything new really, in fact, the Teddy drink is a variant of the legendary Kentucky Mule, (a Moscow Mule with bourbon), except that we added sweet touch of honey, mint to refresh and apple juice to balance everything and make the cocktail less overpowering.
