The Rusty Nail is a cocktail with very high alcohol content, suitable for those who love the warm and enveloping taste of Scotch whiskey.
It is straightforward to make a good Rusty cocktail. The recipe is immediate, crystalline: Scotch whiskey sweetened by Drambuie, a whiskey-based liqueur with Highland herbs and heather honey. All these suggestions are reminiscent of the windswept Scottish hills, where the flavor of the sea blends with that of peat.
The Rusty Nail is a classic after-dinner cocktail and offers a complex and mature symphony of warm and spicy flavors and aromas. The peat dissolves in the musky and flowery sweetness of Drambuie, present as a sweetener.

How to make the Rusty Nail drink
Put ice in an old-fashioned, then pour whiskey and Drambuie, stir and crush the peel to flavor with the essential oil of lemon. You can leave the lemon rind in the glass, but it is better to eliminate it for convenience and not spoil the crucial aspect of the drink.
Tips
Before preparing the Rusty Nail, (or any other cocktail played on the distilled liqueur), taste the Drambuie and become familiar with its particular taste and sweetness.
