10 cl of ginger ale
-
0,75 cl of grenadine
Directions
The Shirley Temple is probably the most famous non-alcoholic cocktail in the world. The recipe is nothing special: ginger ale and grenadine, it isn’t thirst-quenching like many others or like a good lemonade or a cranberry juice. But it became famous because it was invented for the homonymous attractor when she was a child in the 30s.
The original recipe has now been replaced by the version with orange juice, perhaps more suited to our actual palate.
The same Shirley Temple, in an interview, denigrated the cocktail, calling it an unpleasant sugar concentrate that tormented her throughout her childhood.
Things change radically if we add a nice dose of dark rum, which with its plush touch breaks the mellowness of the basic cocktail, amplifying the flavor of ginger, making the cocktail an excellent aperitif.
