The Agua de Angeles cocktail takes us straight to Mexico for an aromatic and enveloping drink based on tequila, mango, carrot, tamarind, rosemary and lime. The concept behind this cocktail is very simple: balance the aromatic exuberance of the tequila with a very intense and tropical velvety fruit taste, which ends up in the unique and imaginative freshness of the tamarind. The smoke is a little touch, but it is a slight gust, just to give a light brushstroke of burnt, but do it quickly.

The cocktail is very light, the alcoholic sensation on the palate is not very perceptible and also the alcoholic degree is bland, so you can drink it as a thirst-quenching aperitif before dinner. It’s all played on delicate references and sharp and fleshy suggestions that come together in a wild dance.

Ingredients and doses for making the Agua de Angeles cocktail

  • 4 cl of reposado tequila
  • 2 cl of mango puree
  • 2 cl of carrot juice
  • 1 sprig of rosemary to decorate, 3-4 leaves in the shaker, 3-4 to be burned
  • 1 cl of tamarind water
  • 0.5 cl of lime juice

How to make the Agua de Angeles cocktail

Take half a mango and mash it in a colander with a wooden spoon.

With an extractor, make carrot juice with a carrot.

Put some rosemary on a plate and burn it with the torch and place the glass over it for a few seconds.

Put all the ingredients and only a few leaves of rosemary in a shaker full of ice, shake vigorously and pour into the cup that you just smoked. Now to make the “smoking flavor” more uniform stir the cocktail in the glass with a spoon.

Put the rosemary sprig and ignite a leaf, solely for pyrotechnic purposes.
