Vodka Beluga Noble Russian: tasting notes and review
Beluga Noble Russian vodka is a distillate with a complex and enveloping taste and not without a certain ambition.
It is a vodka born only in recent years, at the hands of the Mariinsky Distillery and the main ingredients are pure Siberian waters and barley, which obviously is transformed into malt and then distilled. Having chosen barley entails a complexity of the basic flavors that are much wider than the classic distillates based on wheat or potatoes.
Of all the vodkas it is the least pure of all, in the sense that despite having been distilled twice and then filtered with sand and silver filters, what finally emerges are the ingredients they used to flavor it, namely honey, milk thistle. and oats.
Therefore, to an already solid and tasty structure of its own, clear flavors are added, giving this Beluga Noble Russian a certain character. Let’s say that if you are used to the usual boring lack of flavors in vodka, this one chooses the opposite path. Do not expect an aromatic picture comparable to gin, but let’s say they are a pleasant addition.
Beluga Noble Russian: the only vodka that deserves to be drunk straight?
And thanks to this light symphony of spicy, warm and vanilla flavors, Beluga Noble Russian is a candidate for tasting vodka even smooth. Not that it’s a bomb or even remotely comparable to other spirits such as cognac, mezcal, gin or rum, but of all vodkas it stands out. Because let’s face it, drinking smooth vodka is not the best of taste and it’s not for gourmets who want thick experiences.
The bouquet
Elementary nose, but for “a simple vodka” it is very extrovert with aromas of candied cereals, vanilla, cream, a couple of aromatic herbs, honey of course and very light spiciness. Not that it’s a perfume bomb, but at least it tries. Good persistence.
What does Beluga Noble Russian vodka taste like?
The palate has a good structure, is warm, well balanced in the game between spicy, peppery tones and an underlying freshness, which keeps the taste always interesting. Overall it is dry, smooth, but the addition of honey makes it very soft and easy to drink.
An atypical vodka that renounces the usual monastic and monochromatic purity of vodka to wink at pleasantness that does not create earthquakes, but at least makes this Beluga Noble Russian vodka one of the most pleasant to drink straight.
How to drink Beluga Noble Russian Vodka and which cocktails to make
As mentioned it is excellent if drunk straight, well iced, but also to be tried to make Vodka Sour, Espresso Martini, White Russian, Moscow Mule, Cosmopolitan, Vodka Tonic, Kamikaze, Sex on the beach, Screwdriver, Bloody Mary, Caipiroska, Black Russian.
Vodka Beluga Noble Russian price
35 euros, it is not given as a gift, it costs enough, but it is not the usual water and has its own dignity and therefore it is a justified price.
