Directions
Vodka Gimlet is a classic aperitif cocktail, a fresh and direct drink that does not disappoint and caresses the palate with its sharp taste. It is straightforward to prepare, put all the ingredients in the shaker with ice, shake and pour into an iced cup.
And the immediate preparation reverberates the Spartan goodness of this cocktail: it is essential, direct: a beautiful razor in pure sour style.
The ingredients are easy to find and very spartan: Vodka, lime cordial and juice, and sugar. Enough, you don’t need anything else to make this exquisite drink.
It derives directly from the Gimlet, born from the need of the British Navy sailors to fight scurvy. And for this reason, together with the daily dose of Rose’s Lime Juice, they used to add an amount of full-bodied Gin Navy Strength.
To recreate the power of the “original cocktail,” the dose of alcohol is adequately strengthened: 6 cl of Vodka while lime and sugar are reduced to a minimum. So take it easy: it’s not a light aperitif cocktail; indeed, it has a certain underlying aggressiveness. In any case, you can easily reduce the amount of Vodka and bring it to 4 cl: no one will blame you.
