Winkl Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Terlan Winery Review And Tasting Notes
Winkl is a classic Sauvignon Blanc, fragrant, very floral and pungent, with well-modulated acidity, tantalizing flavor and good rhythm.
It is produced in Terlano, in the province of Bolzano, by one of the largest and most renowned Italian wineries, the Terlano winery, a cooperative that has been active since 1893, which has 140 members.
But don’t be fooled. There is obsessive care behind almost 1.5 million bottles, starting with some amazing Riserva such as Novadomus and Quarz, up to a more straightforward wine like Winkl. We could define it as an entry-level product but of a quality well above the average.
The bouquet
And there were some base wines like this Winkl, which shows all its charm, seducing the nose with intense aromas of white flowers, olive, fennel, capers, pepper and thyme. Well blended and without treble: pleasant.
The taste
It is savory, tonic, fresh, with almost spicy hints of minerality in the mouth, but then opens in a harmonious, tasty development. Sharp and floral finish.
It is a wine that perhaps does not shine for its originality but has an appreciable stylistic precision with a solid foundation. Not very multifaceted, but well done.
