Roby Marton Gin Review And Tasting Notes
Roby Marton gin is an Italian distillate that comes from a careful, almost maniacal distillation in the delightful lands of Treviso.
The method is the classic one of double distillation, and the choice of traditional botanicals and some more unusual ones (pink pepper, licorice, ginger, anise) make this very fragrant gin particularly intriguing.
The bouquet
The main feature is the delicate but persuasive scent of licorice and herbs, with a background of camphor and ginger that create a credible and pleasant symphony, never stylized, although it is quite marked.
All this is emphasized by sinuous citrus notes that sharpen and “break” the aromatic profile.
Spices are there as in any self-respecting gin: pepper, cardamom, and anise are felt and delicately punctuate the bouquet with cadenced changes of rhythm.
In summary, it is spectacular, a kaleidoscope of perfumes to get lost in.
The flavor
In the mouth, it is taut, dense in its spicy memories, but it moves with elegance. Good balance and softness, medium-bodied thickness and structure, however well rounded.
It is a gin of extraordinary grace and elegance, which deserves a place of honor in your spirits collection.
Of course, it is a gin designed and created in a modern key, very docile in the mouth and full of nuances, so don’t expect a battle gin as much as a work of delicate chiseling.
