2020 Tistin Roero Arneis Maurizio Abbona Review And Tasting Notes
2020 Maurizio Abbona’s Tistin Roero Arneis DOCG is an excellent everyday white wine: with delicate aromas, great acidity, and carefree drinkability. Everyone agrees on the classic white in the summer, mainly thanks to the correct price: 13.50 on the manufacturer’s website.
How is it produced?
The vines are about 25 years old and have their roots in predominantly sandy soils. After the harvest, the grapes are pressed, and the must ferments with selected yeasts in steel, where the wine rests for a few months.
Organoleptic characteristics
The bouquet is linear, clean, and stylized with the usual white fruit, flowers, lily of the valley, pineapple in syrup, and vanilla mixed with aromatic herbs. All clear and no frills, as expected when it comes to Arneis.
It is medium salty, medium acid, and well studied on the palate, but it does not make you cry for a miracle. It is a built, solid, and precise wine, but don’t expect a monster of charisma or territoriality.
They could have produced it in Chile or Switzerland, making no difference; it would always be the same. However, it has that precision that allows it to become an excellent aperitif wine or be served by the glass if you have a restaurant. Sometimes anonymity helps.
Overall it does its duty: without praise or infamy.
Price
13.50 euros: an acceptable price.
