Today’s cocktail is called Morpheus, pastor of dreams from ancient Greece, but also one of the kick-ass protagonists of the masterpiece movie Matrix.
It is a drink born from a game of contrasts, we put a sweet ingredient and then a bitter one. One full of aromas and one neutral but with plenty of alcoholic thickness, one thick and creamy and another one sparkling to demagnetize it.
And so on… A game between the red pill and the blue one. Of course, the red pill won, because who would not stand to see how deep the rabbit hole is?
Sure, it was a dangerous job, but in the end, we were able to smooth out the edges and create an aromatic drink, sharp and mottled, but with a good balance and pleasantness.
Excellent as an aperitif, but it certainly gives the best of himself in after dinner to aid hydration euphoria and high alcohol content.
The ingredients are easy to find: tequila, tonic water, creme de cassis, tequila, rosemary and a dash of Cynar.
Be careful with doses and maybe do some experiments before serving. With these doses, the cocktail is balanced, but if you like a more “mature” and dry drink, better to reduce the amount of crème de cassis.
