Vodka Finlandia: review and tasting notes of the distillate that comes from glaciers
The Finlandia Vodka is a good product, it is a perfect vodka as a working distillate to make simple and fruity cocktails, thanks to its aromatic cleanliness, but above all to its great price.
It is a crystalline vodka, with light and evanescent flavors, it does not want to be fashionable like the Gray Goose or Purity that make millions of distillations. Only good rye from Finland and the water from the Rajamäki glacier.
We could stay here for hours talking about Finlandia vodka and the history of its distillery, but in reality, the story is not so interesting. It is a vodka born in the 70s from a state distillery that was then sold to a bunch of investors.
What interests us is that it is a vodka that does its dirty work. Few perfumes, few flavors, but the expressiveness and roundness in the mouth are good. Strong structure, sharpened just enough to not be sloppy and great aromatic subtlety. It gives warmth without leaving too much aftermath: that’s all you can ask for a mixing vodka. It’s still vodka, so take it easy.

What does vodka Finlandia taste like?
In the mouth it is lively, it moves with grace and has a light herbaceous step. Never rude, always precise and punctual even with savory and spicy returns of white pepper and marzipan. Good structure, discreet persistence, long and dry finish.
