Directions
The Stelios cocktail is a simple aperitif drink to make, but hides an explosive aromatic heart, thanks to the presence of grapefruit juice and Mastiha, the mythical Greek liqueur made with mastic resin.
The flavor of the Stelios cocktail is dry, but velvety, fresh, not too alcoholic and runs smooth and light on the palate. The other ingredients are light and fruity white rum base, grapefruit juice, two drops of Angostura and then we finish with a little guava nectar to give sweetness.
Overall, the alcohol content is quite light, so you can serve it as an afternoon welcome aperitif to your guests or during summer barbecues or before dinner.
Ingredients and doses to make the Stelios cocktail
- 1 cl of Greek Mastiha
- 4 cl of white rum
- 4 cl of grapefruit juice
- 2 drops of angostura
- 1 cl of sugar syrup
- 2 cl of guava nectar
How to make the Stelios cocktail
Squeeze the pink grapefruit and strain the juice. Pour the Mastiha, rum, syrup, grapefruit juice, guava nectar into a shaker with ice. Add two drops of Angostura and then shake for 10 seconds. Pour into a glass full of ice and serve. The aromatic, sweet and sumptuous taste of the mastika goes wonderfully with the light white rum, the angostura reinforces the green herbaceous aromas and the two juices give acidity and roundness. Simple, but excellent as an aperitif drink.
