It is not an orange wine; it macerates for 20 hours; thus, we are not at the dreamlike levels of Castellada & Company, but don’t expect an all-rock Loire-style Sauvignon or a New Zealand sour bomb.
No, this white wine is in the middle; it has pulp and a lot of thickness while at the same time focusing on very green and pungent tones. The pyrazines have been pumped pretty well, even if we are far from Grandmother’s garden with the cats urinating among the pots of honeysuckle and primroses.
But if you are reading this page, you want to know if this bottle is worth 34–35 euros. Is it worth spending it? Is it still a great wine, one of the most representative whites of Friuli?
It is certainly an intriguing and never banal wine, but we are far from the austere and iconoclastic charm that this wine had in past years. For years past, let’s say at least 10–15.
It still stands up for the rocky and elegant white wines of Friuli today and defends itself admirably, but it has definitely lost its enamel and is suffering from a slightly too rigid and stylized stylistic and aromatic approach.

Organoleptic characteristics
Yellow color with greenish reflections. Classic nose that starts with an outing in tropical plantations and then moves on to a greenhouse full of daffodils and orchids.
The pace is fast, the aromas are sensual and fleshy, and this passion fruit ties everything together. Boxwood, green and smoky tones, a mineral thread to tie everything together, and then the wood brand, still very heavy, but the vintage is 2019, and it will have time to dispose of this heavy interference.
On the palate, it is salty and warm, but well lubricated by an acidity that tastes of lime and lemongrass. It has structure, body, and drive, but once again the wood sinks with stiff and annoying flavors.
The speech is very simple.
The aromatic framework is good, expressive, deep, and also endowed with a certain breadth. It does not stop at the fruit and acidity dualism, but goes further and demonstrates that it has personality. Finish of marzipan, apples, and sage. Evocative.
At the moment, though, it is still out of balance. The hard parts are out of sync with one another and collide, and the wine has not yet absorbed the wood and thrown it away.
Buy it and keep it in the cellar for at least 7-8 years, and it will be perfect. You will give it time to find roundness and a good evolution.

34 euros: a not exactly calibrated price. It does not invite purchase, especially if we consider that it is a 2019 and it hasn’t spent 10 years in the cellar.
