Experience the Artistry of Riserva Carlo Alberto White Vermouth: A Spicy and Elegant Wine for Connoisseurs
The Riserva Carlo Alberto White Vermouth is a tiny work of art, a pungent, herbaceous, and subtlely aromatized wine, all played on light spices, peppery peaks, and great aromatic breath.
On the palate, it is tasty, never too dry or bitter; on the contrary, it has a round fullness that makes it suitable not only for Martinis and Tuxedos but also as an aperitif served with squeezed lemon zest on top.
In fact, we can say that it is an excellent aromatized wine to pair with fish dishes or spicy Chinese or Indian dishes because it tastes good and has a lot of depth.
How it is produced
Moscato di Canelli and Erbaluce di Caluso are used to make the base of the wine. Sugar and alcohol are then added, and classic botanicals like cinchona, alpine and aromatic herbs, spices, and roots are added.
Once again, we have proof that to make a great vermouth, credible and quality base wines are needed. The difference between excellence and an industrial product is all here.
Tasting notes
The color is a kept-transparent yellow with delicate golden reflections.
The bouquet is austere, fine, sharp, and inviting, with elegant and deep green notes that cover a wonderful aromatic frame.
Medicinal and spicy in the right way, with measure, never over the top. Whiffs of saffron and thyme add momentum and excellent variety.
Balsamic finish with eucalyptus and pepper.
On the palate, it tastes like it smells: rich but hesitant and haughty. It doesn’t go overboard with softness but keeps its arrogant, citrusy pace.
Excellent thickness, great depth of icy breath, and beautiful charisma are due to the many suggestions, which flow clearly on the palate.
It’s not exactly a bone-dry vermouth; instead, it plays between spices and a velvety line, teasing the tongue with layers of different flavors that give each other a break.
And in fact, the word “dry” does not appear anywhere on the label.
But rightly so: vermouths are experiencing a real Renaissance; they are establishing themselves as wines, no longer industrial products.
And experimentation and meditation products are the right driving force to clear customs and forget the 8 euros per liter of Martini Bianco.
It must be said that it is almost wasted to make cocktails, given the cost, which is close to 30 euros.
Either you use it for cocktails for special occasions, or it’s already delicious as it is, served on its own with a squeezed lemon peel on top. Don’t add soda; it’s concentrated, but slender and never too heavy.

Price
28–31 euros is a fair price, especially since this vermouth is a small work of alcoholic craftsmanship that can’t be compared to mass-produced goods.
