Avocado fries are one of the latest crazes from the United States. Let’s be honest, though. The idea of fried food is already disturbing due to the serious consequences to health. And going to fry avocados that are full of saturated fat, it’s not that exciting. Of course, the recipe is titillating, splendid, but we were undecided whether to publish it or not.
We have decided to offer you the avocado fries recipe, but with the warning not to overdo it, we provide it for culinary (un) educational purposes, but don’t eat it. We already have enough problems with saturated fats.
There are two ways, traditional breadcrumbs with egg and breadcrumbs or deluxe tropical breadcrumbs with coconut flour and egg. The egg is always used to make a chubby breading. If you’ve gotten this far with your reading, an egg won’t kill you by now.
Okay, are you ready to make coconut-coated avocado fry? Put on the apron and dust the fryer!
Ingredients and doses for making avocado fries
- 6 avocados
- 2 limes or lemons
- 150 grams of finely ground coconut flour
- 150 grams of coconut flour in large flakes
- 4 eggs
- flour and breadcrumbs instead of coconut, if you want a more classic recipe
- 400 grams of salad
- 5 grams of pepper
- 5 grams of nutmeg to put in coconut flour
- 2 liters of sunflower oil
How to make the ultimate avocado fries
Squeeze the lime.
Peel the avocados cut them in half, remove the stone, and cut them into 1.5 cm thick slices. Cut them into large cubes 3X3 cm or wedges, put in a bowl and season with salt, pepper and lime juice to prevent them from oxidizing.
Beat the eggs in a bowl and put the two flours in two separate bowls. Season the fine coconut flour with pepper and nutmeg.
Put the oil in a saucepan or fryer and check the temperature with a digital thermometer: it must be 170 degrees.
Now put on the anti-splash oil glasses and take a piece of avocado, flour it, dip it in the egg, then in the coconut flakes and throw it in the hot oil.
Cooking must be rapid, as soon as the avocado turns golden and makes a nice crust, drain on absorbent paper, dab and eat immediately.
And here is the fried avocado, a delicious appetizer to die for, but eat responsibly and do not overdo it. If you want, serve the avocado fries with a Greek yogurt sauce seasoned with salt, pepper, extra virgin olive oil, lemon, paprika, 1 clove of crushed garlic, 1 tablespoon of dill and 2 cm of chopped ginger.
