Sip Simply: Beccaris’ Refreshing Grappa Piemonte 40°
Grappa Piemonte 40 gradi (degrees) from the Beccaris distilleries is a clean, solid distillate sold at a more than honest price.
It is a discreet distillate that focuses entirely on cleanliness, fruity taste, and great simplicity.
It is an unpretentious grappa that does not want to overdo it but offers a pleasant experience and a very clean and decisive sip.
The cost is also very fair, considering that the 1 liter bottle is sold for 15 to 16 euros, which is not bad.
How it is produced
This grappa is made from a classic mix of pomace from Piedmontese vines. It is well-balanced so that no one flavor, especially Moscato, stands out.
Distillation in a column alembic and aging in steel.
Organoleptic characteristics
Crystalline, subtle nose, dominated by scents of woods, flowers, herbaceous traits, and great cleanliness.
It is not the Pandora’s Box style grappa that, when you smell it, makes you go into ecstasy, but it is precise.
On the palate, it is round, well-made, and driven by a peppery note.
Right freshness, alcoholic credibility, rhythm, and balsamic finish still with pungent flavors.
Simplicity dominates, but overall it is an appreciable and very measured distillate.
Price
The 1-liter bottle costs 15 euros, which is more than fair for a grappa that can be used to make cocktails, make sangria, or strengthen drinks without making them too different.
What cocktails to make
Considering how cheap it is, you can use it instead of white rum to make great grappa-based twists on classic cocktails like the Mojito, Daiquiri, Moscow Mule, or even the Gin & Tonic.
