Benromach
The Benromach distillery is Scotland’s best-kept secret, and it can be found on the outskirts of the historic market town of Forres, which is located in Speyside.
A single malt with distinctive attributes has arisen from a little distillery that was on the verge of going out of business.
These traits include a sartorial cut, refinement, precision, and extraordinary organoleptic features that let us see how much potential these people have.
There aren’t many distilleries that can pack as many concepts, artisanal quality, a refined touch, and exceptional personality into a single bottle as they can.
Let’s just go ahead and claim that it is one of the most courageous and interesting distilleries in all of Scotland if that’s what we want to say. In spite of their remarkable modesty and their ability to keep both feet firmly planted on the ground, they are myths.
The distillery was established in1898, but it underwent numerous closures and changes of ownership before being saved in 1993 by malt whiskey specialists Gordon & MacPhail.
In 1998, HRH Prince Charles officially opened Benromach after it had undergone major renovations in preparation for the event.
Benromach is crafted by only two skilled distillers, who use the finest Scottish barley and the clearest spring water that comes from the Romach Hills, which are located nearby.
At the Benromach Distillery, they take the utmost care to ensure that only the finest spirit is stored in sturdy oak casks and allowed to mature for a considerable amount of time.
Benromach’s secret, which has a golden hue and a distinctively warm and gentle personality, is simply too good to keep to oneself. Benromach is a beverage for sharing special moments with special people because of its refined elegance and sophistication.
Those who are interested in learning more about Benromach’s history should begin their exploration with the magnificent Benromach Traditional, a single malt that is full-bodied and silky smooth, with fruity and malty overtones that are complemented by a hint of smoke.
The Benromach Distillery is a boutique distillery, a little pearl of a place where everything is done by hand and the labor is done in an artisanal manner.
Because of the distillery’s small scale and its adherence to traditional methods of labor, there is no need to be concerned about the consequences of embracing innovation, imagination, and experimentation.
They are certainly not timid; in fact, they have enough of boldness to spare thanks to the exceptional selection of ingredients and the refinement process that takes place in special barrels. And this is the distillery’s most valuable asset: the ambition to create things that are both beautiful and innovative and to never be stagnant in their progress.
This rougher and more varied approach can be seen in the fact that the first organic single malt whisky was made and became very popular. It was also the first product to get full certification from the Soil Association.
The raw materials, distillation, aging, and bottling are all organically certified in accordance with the stringent guidelines established by the Soil Association.
Benromach Organic is a whiskey with a golden brown hue that has a strong spice and woody component. It is described as being fresh and energetic.
On the nose, one can pick up scents of charred and sweet oak, which explode against a backdrop of fresh fruit consisting of pineapples and bananas. On the palate, you’ll pick up tastes of sweetness, vanilla, and toffee.
Benromach Origins is a series of limited-edition bottlings that was created to demonstrate how even minute adjustments to the whiskey-making process may have a significant impact on the flavor of the finished single malt product. The first batch of the series is a delicious single malt that was developed with Golden Promise barley, which was farmed in the heart of Speyside. This resulted in a single malt that displayed creamy sweet flavors, roasted malt, and very subtle peat smoke.
The line of Benromach is sold in beautiful cans and one-of-a-kind 70-cl bottles, which adds to the boutique, refined, and modern feel of the Benromach brand.
The Clipper 2009–2010 Round the World Yacht Race has named Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey the official whiskey of the competition. Benromach has selected Sir Robin Knox-Johnston to serve as its global brand ambassador. Sir Robin was the first person to round the world by sailing alone and without stopping.
