Unleash the Elegance of Nebbiolo with Giuseppe Cortese’s 2013 Vintage
Giuseppe Cortese’s Nebbiolo 2013 is one of those subtle wines endowed with incredible drinkability, a tasty wine that knows how to paint a brilliant picture of a unique territory such as Trifolera and Rabaja, land of great Barbarescos. The vines are the youngest, and therefore a light wine is produced, not too structured; we are very far from the intensity of the Rabaja Riserva of the house; however, this Nebbiolo stands out for its cleanliness, precision, and harmony.
As you well know, the Cortese winery is a family winery that produces in the most natural way possible and has a very respectful approach during the vinification phase: there are no filtrations, clarifications, or stabilizations, and the wines are born after aging in large wood. They take their time and don’t push a noble thoroughbred like Nebbiolo to improve its fine qualities.
But returning to this Nebbiolo 2013, Giuseppe Cortese, a sunny, flowing wine that is certainly not particularly complex, but in reality it is a type of wine that does not want to overdo it. Without trivializing, we could say that it’s the entry-level wine of the winery, and it does its duty without overdoing it, is pleasant, and is all sold at a more than reasonable price.
