The Unforgettable Experience for Whiskey Enthusiasts: Exploring the Unique Flavors of Koval Rye

Koval rye is a distillate that is not easy to review, comment on, and encapsulate in a few words on a page.
Let’s start by saying that it is a very artisanal American rye whiskey with a remarkable structure and flavor.
Obviously, as with all high-end distillates, only the heart of the distillation is used. The less valuable parts, the tail and head, are discarded.
But don’t expect a smoky, fruity, and buttery whiskey; indeed, this Rye is a return to the origins; tasted blind, it looks like a grappa, a brandy.
It’s a pure, hard, organic product that punches you in the face as soon as you touch your nose and twice as soon as you taste it.
In summary, it is pure rye whiskey that has not been fashioned in casks. If you like strong and primordial flavors, think about it; if you are looking for notes of toffee and maple syrup, change the bottle.
Perhaps we have defined it too unequivocally, but don’t expect a rustic distillate or a battle-worthy slivovitz like the ones you might find on the ferries to Croatia. It’s an excellent bottle, but it doesn’t reflect the classic stylistic features of smoky and caramel American whiskey. For the rest, it is a great distillate, very courageous, but not for everyone.
Bouquet
The bouquet is spicy and peppery but mottled with ripe notes of plums, flowers, camphor, and anise. Elegant, intense, but with a fairly monolithic cut, however natural in its development. You will not find traces of smoke or caramel undertones.
The taste
Peppery mouth, wide and rich in savory layers that alternate to create a crescendo of remarkable taste. The lack of wood and smoke highlights the goodness of a full distillate, in which the taste of mint and roots makes its way to a very dry finish.
