Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Concrete De Fermo 2015 tasting note: a great wine from Loreto Aprutino with love
The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Concrete by De Fermo 2015 is a super tasty wine, one of those rustic reds full of fruit, that goes straight to the point without frills.
The grapes have been cultivated with the utmost respect, under organic farming rules, indeed naturally, so much that all synthetic products have been banned. We are in the hills of Loreto Aprutino, elective home of the noble Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a magical place, where the vineyards rise in the mountains not far from the woods.
The vinification is respectful: in the cellar, only indigenous yeasts are used, it is not filtered nor clarified and macerations are long. In this case to make the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Concrete 2015 only cement was used and this explains its rebellious and spry nature. There are no woods, spices, but only the stormy exuberance of Montepulciano.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Concrete by De Fermo 2015 bouquet
Irresistibile nose, fiery, with cherries, rosemary, and flowers in splendid sequence. The variety is good, the rhythm excellent and inviting. It is not an ethereal or subtle wine, it does not hide: all juice.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Concrete by De Fermo 2015 flavor
The palate is ample, warm, very fresh, with a quick and precise first step. He is sharp, but not angular, an old fashioned wine, but never banal. It is not too tannic, it has an amazing drinkability and aromatic propulsion. The body is medium, don’t expect a bomb. Fruity, flashy but never jammy. He must not rest too much in your wine cellar, no more than 3-4 years, his merit is immediacy. Nice and clean finish with plums and thyme.
