Discover the Secret to Unforgettable Tasting: 2019 Melograno Rosso Podere Concori Syrah
The 2019 Melograno Rosso from Podere Concori is a delicious wine, a Syrah-based red wine that is velvety and powerful, deep, intensely fragrant, full of pepper and juice, and never slow or redundant.
Even though this wine has a great structure, it is always moving, daring, greedy, and stubborn in how its aromas develop. However, it is also constantly prepared to astound you with a measured elegance and incredible ease of drinking.
How it is produced
At an elevation of 400 meters, close to the Tuscan Apennines, and surrounded by vineyards and woods, we are in Garfagnana, north of Lucca. And it is from vines over 60 years old that are grown biodynamically in this tiny patch of untamed Tuscany that this great red wine is produced. Long maceration, spontaneous fermentation, and aging in barrique for ten months all take place in wooden vats.
Organoleptic characteristics
the color purple. The bouquet is a whirlwind of flowers with forest-like undertones; it is dark and brazen, with fleshy, bloody fruit that mingles with copious amounts of pepper and ginger. earthy finish and a blood orange finish. There is a lot of intensity but also a lot of cleanliness.
It has a wide, well-shaped palate that is convincing in how the freshness and warmth work together. The tannins are strong and earthy, evoking the flavors of rhubarb, licorice, and cinchona. The pace is solemn and rhythmic, and it never even hints at slowing down, even though it is usually full-bodied but never fat.
The compactness and naturalness of the sip make it a wonderful wine. The feeling of fullness on the palate is delicate and never heavy, despite the fact that it is full, pulpy, and full. The extract is exceptional, but it never approaches swelling.
Price
Excellent value for a top-notch Tuscan red wine at 24–25 euros. And resist the siren’s call of Syrah. Despite the fact that we are much further north than Bolgheri, the temperature variations and the forest’s role as a “green lung” help the wine keep a lean and never stuffy profile. Although there is some sumptuousness, it has a hard edge. Rarely will you find a Syrah with this much personality and expression for this price.
