Rum Choco Loco: A Chocolate Symphony in a Cocktail Glass

A new chocolate and vanilla cocktail? With a dash of coconut rum and Galliano liqueur, perhaps?

It sounds delicious, but won’t it be too alcoholic?

No, what we offer is a light recreational drink that is not overly alcoholic but is full of spicy nuances that melt into a chocolaty horizon.

Of course, you don’t have to count the calories, but the Rum Choco Loco cocktail is a knockout when served well iced, thanks to the rum’s combination of spices, sweetness, and warmth.

Some will argue that the triple sec is missing; a touch of burnt orange would suffice; however, with stride coconut, you can experiment: add a few tablespoons of triple sec, but the drink is already delicious.

Even vegans can enjoy this cocktail because it contains no prohibited ingredients due to the use of coconut milk.

Ingredients and doses of the Rum Choco Loco cocktail

  • 20 grams of dark chocolate
  • 4 cl. of dark rum
  • 3 cl of coconut milk
  • 3 drops of vanilla essence
  • 1 cl of Galliano liqueur
  • ice

How to prepare the Rum Choco Loco cocktail

Melt the chocolate with the coconut milk in a double boiler over a very gentle heat, stirring often. Let the chocolate cool a bit.

Put 3–4 ice cubes in a shaker, pour the chocolate, rum, Galliano liqueur, and vanilla, close the shaker, and shake for at least 20 seconds.

Pour into a highball glass and decorate as desired with a vanilla pod and chocolate flakes.
