The question of the century is: “What to serve as an aperitif for this Easter 2022?“. The answer is simple: a light and tasty drink. We don’t want your grandfather to get drunk and walk the streets naked before he’s arrested. So the keyword is airiness.
We reserved this cocktail for a special occasion since it’s a particular drink. In fact, the Pink Samurai is our first cocktail made with beer. We must be honest; making cocktails with beer has never been our forte. We were all very skeptical, if not reluctant, about it.
But then this light and jaunty aperitif suddenly arrived and made us think again. It is a super delicate and fragrant aperitif, and despite the few ingredients, it is a supernova of flavors and aromas but always characterized by great drinkability.
The ingredients of Pink Samurai: sake, strawberry nectar, Bengal pepper, beer, and two lavender flowers. “There is harmony between us,” as Red and Toby would say. There is no need to insist on the splendid and crystalline beauty of the embrace between strawberries and lavender: they were born to share the same glass. So this Easter 2022, you can offer a splendid and light cocktail to your guest.
Two words about beer: choose a full-bodied, malty beer with a sweet aftertaste like a Bock: you need malt and thickness to give roundness to the cocktail.
Well, there is nothing else to add except that the Pink Samurai is a low alcohol cocktail, perfect as an aperitif. Let’s say that you are looking for an escape from the aromatic banality of Spritz, but you still want a drink that is not too demanding and very drinkable. You have found it.
