India does not have many drinks, at least not as many as there are good dishes. However, one drink that you will find everywhere and that we highly recommend you try is the mango lassi. It is a milkshake topped with ginger, and a light dusting of cardamom, nothing complicated. The recipe for making mango lassi is essential: all you need is fresh fruit, yogurt, and a blender.

The secret to making a good mango lassi is consistency: do not give up after the first attempt, and always start calmly with the spices. There are no original lassi recipes written by Ganesh, as the doses and ingredients change from area to area and on each palate.

So don’t give up. It’s an excellent snack for children or a tonic full of proteins if you have to undergo intense workouts in the gym. The tropical flavor of mango that gets lost in frozen yogurt is delicious. If you want to try it, here is the recipe.

Spices are the secret weapon

A little tip to constantly make new and tasty mango lassi and other fruit. Use a lot of spices: cardamom, cumin, fresh ginger, pepper, Sichuan pepper, vanilla, tamarind, coconut, and of course turmeric.

Ingredients for making the ultimate mango lassi

2 servings

  • 1 mango, 350 grams
  • 600 grams of white yogurt
  • 200 ml of water or milk
  • 2 grams of turmeric
  • 3 grams of cardamom powder, plus a pinch for dusting
  • 5 grams of sugar
  • the juice of 1 lime
  • ice
  • 5 grams of slices of ginger

How to make mango lassi (milkshake)

The recipe is straightforward: wash and peel the mango, cut it into pieces and blend it with the yogurt and water (which you can replace with milk to make it even tastier). It must be creamy and fluid.

At this point, add the sugar, mix, and pour it into the glasses, where you have put some ice cubes. Sprinkle with a bit of cardamom powder and a few veils of ginger.

With mango lassi, you can also make excellent popsicles, freezing the milkshake, for one night, in the special trays or cubes, which are ideal for preparing non-alcoholic drinks or tropical-flavored cocktails.
