The heat doesn’t let up, so why don’t we cool off with some iced lemonade?

Fortunately, the days of mocktails being considered heresy or childish snacks are long gone. Indeed, it could have gone even further. We tend to exaggerate in many ways, and to be extra cool, they offer non-alcoholic cocktails with the most bizarre ingredients, such as Shangri-La pepper, candied ginger, and so on.

So we’ve decided to go retro today and offer you an old-fashioned recipe, an American lemonade, that will make your summer glacial with a few tricks and a blender.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Ingredients and doses

4 servings

  • 400 grams of strawberries
  • 20 fresh basil leaves, but mint is also perfect
  • 10 cl of lemon juice, the juice of 2 lemons
  • 20 grams of brown sugar
  • ice at will

Preparation

Squeeze the lemons and put the juice in a jug, add the sugar and mix. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Blend the strawberries with the basil. If you want, filter through a sieve with the help of a spoon.

Take out the jug with the lemonade, add the pureed strawberries and mix. Add ice and decorate with a strawberry.

Excellent for quenching the thirst of children and the elderly, if you add gin or vodka it becomes a tonic even for stressed parents.

If you want a fabulous long drink, add 5 cl of Champagne and 1 cl of vodka for each participant.
