William Grant & Sons Defies Global Chaos, Returns to Pre-Pandemic Glory with Record Profits
William Grant & Sons, the dynastic force behind Glenfiddich Scotch, just flexed its financial muscle, smashing a 21.7% year-over-year sales increase, capping off 2022 at a hefty £1.72 billion. Profits? They soared, too—rocketing 33.8% to net £331.3 million.
According to the distillery, this surge hauls them back to their pre-pandemic glory days, despite the headwinds of a tangled global supply chain. The past year wasn’t just about the numbers. It was about legacy and innovation. They rolled out Glenfiddich ‘Time Reimagined,’ a curated trio of whiskies aged 30 to 50 years. Plus, in homage to malt master David Stewart’s six-decade career, they uncorked The Balvenie 60 Year Old.
But the hits didn’t stop with Scotch. The company’s gin game was equally strong, thanks to Hendrick’s Neptunia release. Even on the tech side, they were firing on all cylinders with a newly deployed enterprise resource planning system.
In a statement, William Grant & Sons cut through the global chaos to say: “While 2022 threw curveballs like supply snags and inflation, we’re not just weathering the storm; we’re sailing ahead of it. Our long-term game plan with our partners? Consistent growth.”
