To commemorate the Year of the Rabbit, Maison Ferrand has released a limited edition Premier Cru 10 Générations Cognac.
The double-matured Premier Cru de Cognac pays homage to the Ferrand family’s ten generations.
Ferrand 10 Générations Port Cask is bottled at 44% ABV (88% Proof) and packaged in a red and gold-detailed bottle as a reference to the lucky number eight in Chinese culture.
Both the bottle and the presentation box have roots that show the faces of all ten generations of the Ferrand family. There is also a small, cute item to mark the Year of the Rabbit.
The liquid was aged twice, once in French oak barrels and then again in Port barrels.
Its bouquet begins with a pastry profile of vanilla, caramel, almond, apricot, and coconut then progresses to rose, orange blossom, and nutmeg.
The beverage is stated to be rich, round, and full on the palate, with a creamy texture reminiscent of white chocolate and undertones of baked pear, vanilla, roasted chestnut, honey, and cinnamon.
The finish is lengthy and creamy, with notes of figs, plum, bergamot, nutmeg, licorice, and vanilla.
Each 750-ml bottle costs £43.95 (US$54.28) and can be purchased at Master of Malt, pair with a hearty roasted rabbit and you’ll make the perfect pairing.
