The Long & Short of It: Borders Distillery’s Latest Whisky Is a Harmonic Blend of Time and Flavor
Borders Distillery blasts onto the scene with the next explosive installment in their Workshop Series: The Long & Short of It. Clocking in at 40% ABV, this limited juggernaut of a blend marries two distillation giants: one fermented for a rapid-fire 55 hours and another for a marathon 150 hours. Double distilled, then laid to rest in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, this blend is a full-throttle fusion.
Hold onto your hats—only 8,400 individually numbered bottles will hit the global market, all distilled in the heartland of the Scottish Borders.
In the glass, expect an alchemical marvel. We’re talking yellow gold with sensory notes that dance between fig pudding, butterscotch, and sultanas.
To kick off this launch, the distillery’s dropping their debut promo video. It’s a cinematic nod to the ebb and flow of the long and short in the grind of daily life.
Director John Fordyce lays it down: “Fermentation isn’t just a process; it’s the pulse of flavor in Scotch Whisky. The Long & Short of It is our sonic riff of short and long fermentation times—the fresh and the sweet in perfect harmony.”
As for the Workshop Series, it’s the distillery’s playground. “While the world waits for the Scottish Borders’ first single malt in almost two centuries, this series lets our distillers cut loose,” Fordyce adds. “It’s an unpredictable playground where we can experiment, create, and play around with spirits that truly express who we are.”
WS:02 The Long & Short of It hits online shelves on October 26 with an RRP of £40. Don’t sleep on it.
