Salcombe Gin and RNLI Anchor Together for ‘Four Seas,’ a Limited-Edition Lifesaver
To honor its 200th anniversary, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is sailing into the spirits world with Salcombe Gin for a limited-edition libation dubbed “Four Seas.” A cut of 10% from each bottle’s net price fuels the RNLI’s critical ocean rescue operations.
Angus Lugsdin, Salcombe Distilling Co’s co-founder and maritime veteran, couldn’t be more stoked. “Having cut my teeth sailing in Salcombe and witnessed lifeboat launches as a kid, this RNLI-Salcombe Gin alliance is like a dream distilled,” he said. “These volunteers with the RNLI are ocean protectors, risking everything to keep the oceans safer for every one of us..”
Four Seas is a toast to the coastal communities of Britain and Ireland. It’s a nautical journey in a glass, capturing the essence of the four waters that cradle the UK: the Atlantic Ocean, Irish Sea, English Channel, and North Sea. Think lemons smoked over whisky barrel chips from Scotland, sea buckthorn from the Cornish coast, Irish Sea-harvested sugar kelp, and Welsh elderberries. The profile? A nose of smoky citrus and juniper, a palate of layered florals and earthiness, culminating in a finish as smooth as a calm sea yet tinged with a saltiness echoing its maritime roots.
RNLI’s CEO, Mark Dowie, is all aboard: “Salcombe Gin’s generous support ensures that our lifeboat crews and lifeguards remain well-equipped to continue their vital, life-saving maritime missions.”
This special gin, retailing at £39.50 per 700ml bottle with a 40% ABV, joins Salcombe’s existing fleet of spirits, including their Offshore Strength and exclusive Voyager Series.
