Eden Mill Debuts ‘The Guard Bridge’: A Whisky Ode to Scottish Heritage
Scottish maker Eden Mill is launching “The Guard Bridge,” a blended malt Scotch whisky. This innovative blend draws its core from Eden Mill’s signature single malt, enriched with single malts from both the Highlands and Lowlands. Presented at 46% ABV, it boasts a natural hue and skips chill filtering.
Eden Mill’s chief distiller, Scott Ferguson, shared, “This blend captures the essence of Scotland. It melds the gentle, grassy nuances of Lowland malts with the hearty, sweet notes of Highland varieties.”
“The Guard Bridge” boasts a rich tapestry of at least 10 single malts from Scotland, one aging over eight years. It’s harmoniously blended and aged further in ex-Eden Mill bourbon casks. Ferguson also matured a component in an array of casks, including virgin American oak and Pedro Ximénez.
He elaborated, “Our distinct Eden Mill single malt stock is limited, with under 400 casks left. Incorporating it in ‘The Guard Bridge’ lets global aficionados savor a hint of Eden Mill.”
The blend’s name salutes the historic 15th-century bridge linking St Andrews and Guardbridge. The packaging, adorned in blue and teal, pays homage to the Eden Estuary—Eden Mill’s future site for crafting their single malts and gins.
