Deanston’s Audacious Fusion: When Scottish Whisky Meets Mexican Tequila

Deanston has unveiled a groundbreaking 15-Year-Old Tequila Cask Finish, a blend of Scottish and Mexican Highland essences.

Situated in the Scottish Highlands, Deanston Distillery has forged an intriguing connection with the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, a key Tequila-producing region.

The single malt initially aged for 13 years in oak hogsheads. It then underwent a two-year finish in barrels formerly housing Tequila. This process amplifies Deanston’s waxy, honeyed profile with the floral and fruity notes inherent to Jaliscan Tequila.

Master Blender Julieann Fernandez commented, “Deanston’s versatile spirit takes on a new dimension when paired with Jalisco’s renowned fruity, floral Tequilas. The outcome is a dram that’s both complex and balanced, unmistakably Deanston. While the Tequila undertones are subtle, they add a unique smoothness, embodying our fearless, experimental spirit.”
