The Launch of Renegade’s Core Expressions The brand, established by Mark Reynier, is gearing up for a notable launch this December. After its debut last summer and the release of a range of pre-cask bottlings, Renegade is now ready to unveil four cornerstone expressions. This range includes three rums aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels, alongside one unaged variant.
Evolving Beyond Accolades “Our initial pre-cask bottlings garnered significant awards and recognition, but the time has come to expand our horizons,” stated Reynier, the former Managing Director of Bruichladdich.
Diverse and Distinctive Offerings
- All-Island Cuvée: Nova – Crafted using both pot and column stills from an array of sugarcane varieties including Lacalome Red, Yellow Lady, Lodger, Cain, and Clean Ester. It’s a harmonious blend of single farm origins and diverse wood types, presenting at 46% ABV with a price tag of US$60. Renegade touts this as their ‘finest amalgamation of component terroirs’.
- Single Farm Cuvée: Dunfermline – Distilled from Lacalome Red sugarcane, mirroring the esteemed Bordeaux Grand Vins. This expression, at 50% ABV, is available for US$70.
- MicrOrigin: Hope – A singular field-focused rum, distilled from Lodger sugarcane in pot and retort stills. Priced at US$80 and bottled at 55% ABV.
- Cuvée: Aura – An unaged rum distilled from Lacalome Red, Lodger, and Cain varieties. Capturing the distillery’s essence of ‘pure spirit and fresh rum flavors’, it’s offered at 46% ABV for US$50.
In-Depth Rum Exploration Each rum features a unique CaneCode, allowing connoisseurs to delve into the details of the cane varieties, cask composition, and more, reflecting Renegade’s dedication to transparency and provenance.

Commitment to Authenticity Renegade Rum ensures each expression is non-chill filtered, retains its natural color, and is free from added sugar. The journey that Reynier began with the announcement of the Grenada distillery in July 2018 and production kickoff in September 2020 continues.
