2019 Malbec Q Zuccardi: an Argentine red wine ideal for summer grilling
The Malbec Q 2019 from Zuccardi is a big, spicy, fruity, full-bodied red wine from Argentina. It has a good rhythm. There is no shortage of acidity and minerality, so don’t think of the usual marmalade wine to chew.
It is not the wine of life; it is not the Malbec that will have you flying to Argentina on the back of an alpaca to visit vineyards; however, it does its dirty work without hesitation and does not fall into the trap of stylization.
If you are looking for a red wine for grilling, more for assault than for meditation, then you can easily take it to parties and dinners, and it will not disappoint anyone. It is a bottle of a certain thickness, sold at a fairly popular price of 25 euros.
How it is produced
The bottles produced are 300,000, not a few; even the quality of the grapes is more than good. The vines grow in the Andes, in Paraje Altamira and Los Chacayes.
After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed, fermented with selected yeasts, and then aged in concrete and large oak barrels. Nothing exceptional, but the extraordinary soil and climatic conditions of the Uco Valley give the bunches finesse, minerality, and great freshness.
Organoleptic characteristics
intense and dark purple color. A spicy bouquet full of chocolate and coffee, dominated by berries in alcohol, light herbaceous traits, and a smoky finish.
The wood has been marked gracefully, very lightly. The mood is there; the wild and mountainous charm of Malbec attacks you; it won’t let you go; it’s an escape into the woods, a descent into a whirlwind of wild scents. dry meat and tar finish.
Everything is declined with precision without slipping into stylistic rigidity.
On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, and the tannins are still powerful and push the wine, supporting it and amplifying the gustatory spectrum with flavors of cinchona and rhubarb.
Despite being a robust and pulpy wine, acidity and a slight mineral note take care of dramatizing it. pleasant and well done.
The balance is there, but it is still very young, and with a couple more years behind it, the tannins will be able to find more completeness and roundness.
