Whoopi Goldberg Unveils Organic ‘Whoopi Prosecco’ — A Sparkling Wine with Italian Roots and Big Taste
Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg launched her own sparkling wine, Whoopi Prosecco, in November 2022. Using organically-grown Glera grapes from Asolo’s hillside vineyards in Italy, Goldberg describes the Prosecco as a blend of “tiny bubbles and a big taste.”
Initially exclusive to Reservebar.com, it’s now available on whoopiprosecco.com at a retail price of $21.99 and an ABV of 11.5%. Goldberg’s vision for her Prosecco is clear: she wants it to be part of entertaining at home, to spark conversations, and to enhance gatherings with friends and family.
Whoopi Prosecco stands out with its “bright and elegant bouquet,” combining fruity and floral aromas with a robust taste dominated by citrus notes.
This venture isn’t Goldberg’s first in the world of sparkling wines. In 1999, she collaborated with Korbel Champagne Cellars in California, designing artwork for a limited edition of Korbel Brut Rosé bottles.
Gary Heck, Korbel’s president, praised Goldberg as a perfect match for their artist series, symbolizing fun and celebration.
For Whoopi Prosecco’s second release, Goldberg employed London’s Butterfly Cannon design agency for a complete brand overhaul. The redesigned bottles feature a striking bubblegum pink cage, a green neck closure, and detailed micro-embossing, adding a playful yet elegant touch.
In a surprising twist, Goldberg admitted in 2011 that while she enjoyed cannabis, she abstained from alcohol. This revelation was made during a voice-over session for the animated film The Pagemaster, where she candidly spoke about her preferences.
