The Peninsula London: A Triumphant Entry, Sealed with Bespoke Gins
The Peninsula’s London Debut: A Gin-Inspired Journey with Cambridge Distillery
The Peninsula Breaks British Ground
Last month, Belgravia welcomed a stellar addition with the five-star Peninsula Hotel, marking the British debut for this luxury chain.
A Distilled Collaboration: The Essence of Innovation and Tradition
This collaboration with Cambridge Distillery wasn’t an overnight endeavor. After years of meticulous planning, they introduced a collection of gins, each echoing the hotel’s distinct spirit. William Lowe, the master distiller and co-founder, remarked, “Our collaboration with The Peninsula London is a sublime blend of innovation and heritage, capturing the core of both institutions in an unparalleled gin experience.”
The Gin Trilogy: Flavours, Memories, and Legacies
- Little Blue Gin: Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s Little Blue Bar, this 40% ABV gin seamlessly blends teas like white tea, lapsang souchong, assam, and pu’er, resonating with the bar’s Eastern-infused cocktails.
- Mach II Gin: A nod to the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Brooklands, which celebrates British aviation and motorsport. This 40% ABV spirit captures the British countryside, infusing juniper with blackcurrant leaves, rose, rosemary, lemon verbena, angelica, and basil.
- 1928 Gin: Paying homage to The Peninsula Hotels’ inaugural year in Hong Kong, this 42% ABV gin melds English botanicals like rose petals and lemon verbena with the Asian zest of turmeric and kaffir lime, offering a tantalizing fusion of spicy warmth and crisp citrus.
Sonja Vodusek, the managing director of The Peninsula London, expressed pride in their alliance with Cambridge Distillery, praising the distillery’s commitment to tradition, innovation, and British craftsmanship. “”The trinity of gins,” she added, “are tangible evidence of our restaurants’ long history and exceptional craftsmanship.”
