Johnnie Walker’s Latest Marvel: Blue Label Xordinaire Elevates Scotch Luxury to New Heights
Johnnie Walker, a name synonymous with premium Scotch, has unveiled its latest opulent creation: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Xordinaire. This extraordinary blend emerges from a mere one in 10,000 casks from the acclaimed stocks of Scotch whisky, boasting a unique finish in XO Cognac casks.
Diageo, the owner of Johnnie Walker, positions the Blue Label Xordinaire as a continuation of the original Blue Label’s legacy of luxury. Initially launched over three decades ago as an exclusive offering in travel retail, the Blue Label has epitomized upscale spirits.
Making its grand entrance as a permanent fixture in Johnnie Walker’s travel retail collection, the Blue Label Xordinaire was celebrated last month at the illustrious Sanya Edition Hotel in Hainan, China.
To enhance its global debut, Johnnie Walker has planned engaging activations at airports worldwide. These include opportunities to taste this exquisite blend alongside bespoke chocolate pairings, crafted in collaboration with renowned French chocolatier Arnaud Larher.
Johnnie Walker’s master blender, Emma Walker, describes the Blue Label Xordinaire as “an exuberance to be shared.” She highlights its lusciously smooth character and soft-spice aftertaste, enriched by notes of dried fruit, toasted toffee, and sun-ripened black cherry. Its velvety smoothness allows bright orchard fruits to emerge, with undertones of peach and soft spice.
Andrew Cowan, managing director of Diageo Global Travel, views the Blue Label Xordinaire as a pivotal development in the Johnnie Walker Blue Label saga. This launch is Diageo’s most significant global debut in travel retail, aiming to solidify Johnnie Walker Blue Label as a luxury icon. Catering to both connoisseurs and those who savor a sweeter, smoother taste, this new expression is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence and exclusivity.
Available at key global airports, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Xordinaire (40% ABV) retails for £335 / US$399 per one-litre bottle, offering an unparalleled luxury experience for discerning travelers and whisky enthusiasts.
