James Harden’s Swift Wine Success: 10 Seconds, 10,000 Bottles in China
NBA standout James Harden was left in disbelief after 10,000 bottles of his wine sold out in mere seconds during a livestream hosted by Chinese influencer Xiao Yang.
While participating in a live session on the Chinese platform Weibo, Harden collaborated with influencer Xiao Yang, aiming to showcase the allure of his wine to the Chinese audience. The swift sale of 10,000 bottles in just 10 seconds left the Philadelphia 76ers’ point guard astounded.
Footage from the stream captured Harden’s astonished laughter upon hearing the sales update, leading him to verify the stats on the computer, as documented by the South China Morning Post.
In partnership with Accolade Wines, Harden launched his debut wine range, dubbed J-Harden. This venture, a joint effort with Jam Shed, introduced a California Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend. The label of J-Harden is distinct, flaunting a vibrant and floral rendition of Harden’s face and iconic beard.
Recently, Harden visited China after a four-year hiatus to engage with fans and attend promotional events. Yet, his trip wasn’t devoid of controversy. He labeled 76ers president Morey a “liar” during a Beijing press conference sponsored by Adidas.
Morey, having previously shown support for Hong Kong’s 2019 pro-democracy movements, is a contentious figure in China. NBA veteran Andre Iguodala commented on Harden’s remarks, suggesting it was a strategic move. He elaborated on the “Gil’s Arena” basketball podcast, mentioning Harden’s commercial ambitions in China, particularly in the footwear sector.
