Chouffe Brewery Introduces 0.4% ABV Beer to Meet Rising Demand for Non-Alcoholic Options
The Belgian Ardennes-based Achouffe Brewery has introduced a new 0.4% ABV beer, Chouffe Alcohol Free, to the market. This non-alcoholic variant will be available alongside the brewery’s flagship beer, La Chouffe, on supermarket shelves for the first time.
Chouffe Alcohol Free retains the unique spice and fruit tones characteristic of the Chouffe range. However, the brewery points out a key distinction; unlike most beers, Chouffe Alcohol Free employs a special yeast that doesn’t convert sugars into alcohol during the fermentation process.
Laurens Nies, the UK head of sales for Duvel Moortgat, discussed the product’s introduction. He noted a growing demand for non-alcoholic beers, driven by consumers’ increasing health consciousness and declining alcohol consumption. Specifically, he mentioned that millennials are consuming less alcohol than their parents did at the same age and predicted this trend would continue.
Nies further elaborated, “We believe that the excellent taste of Chouffe should be accessible to everyone, in every situation, at any time. This belief led to the creation of Chouffe 0.4%.”
Starting from August 7, Chouffe Alcohol Free will be available in Asda stores at a price of £1.80 per 330ml bottle.
