2024 White Truffle Fair in Pergola: Taste, Culture, and Tradition Over Three October Sundays
The Municipality of Pergola, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, hosts an important event every year related to truffles, one of the typical products of the Marche region. For three consecutive Sundays—respectively 6, 13, 20 October 2024—visitors to the National Fair of the Fine White Truffle, now in its 27th edition, arrive in the town. The occasion is good to taste and buy the delicious hypogeal mushroom, but also to visit one of the most beautiful villages in the Marche, located on the hills of the Alta Valle del Cesano.
The large market exhibition of truffles and typical local products takes place in the streets of the historic center, where the stands and stalls extend for over a kilometer of exhibition route. Regional delicacies, both local and from the rest of Italy, are, as always, one of the strong points of the event, which attracts Italian and international tourists, also attracted by the other points of interest in the village: the local Museo dei Bronzi Dorati, for example, sees an exponential increase in the number of visitors during the event every year. Corso Matteotti becomes the showcase for truffles and typical products, while in Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Garibaldi, and other points in the center, there is space for “Pergola produce,” where the Pergola companies are present. In the Casa del Tartufo, you can buy directly from local companies, while those who want to eat can do so at the restaurants and inns that, for the occasion, offer typical truffle cuisine.
