Milroy’s of Soho Celebrates 60 Years with Exquisite New Whisky Collections
Milroy’s of Soho, an esteemed independent whisky specialist, proudly announces the launch of four new whiskies. These additions enrich both their Vintage Reserve and Soho Selection collections. The company marks a remarkable milestone: its 60th anniversary, having first opened its doors in November 1964.
A Vision for Distinct Whisky Selections
Jolyon Dunn, the CEO of Milroy’s, expresses immense excitement about these releases, signifying the start of a significant year for the company. “We’re incredibly thrilled to present these new bottlings at the beginning of a year that’s shaping up to be momentous for us at Milroy’s,” he states.
Celebrating Distinctive Distillery Flavors
The January 2024 releases are exceptional finds, carefully selected by the Milroy’s team. The Vintage Reserve aims to honor the unique character of each distillery, while the Soho Selection seeks out more unconventional and contemporary expressions, demonstrating that superb whisky transcends age.
“These releases are merely the start of our 60th-anniversary celebrations, with more exciting news expected soon,” Dunn adds.
Exceptional Limited Edition Releases
Each of the four whiskies is a highly limited edition. The Vintage Reserve Collection features:
- Benriach 27 Years Old 1996 (42.9%, Hogshead number 43214): Distilled on 12 March 1996 and bottled on 15 June 2023, this whisky is a traditional floor-malted spirit, produced before the distillery’s maltings shut down in 1999.
- Glenburgie 27 Years Old 1995 (52.3%, Hogshead number 6732): Distilled on 20 June 1995 and bottled on 14 June 2023, it embodies all the hallmarks of a well-aged Glenburgie.
The Milroy’s Soho Selection introduces:
- Highland Peated Malt 19 Years Old 2004 (55.5%, Refill American oak): Distilled on 21 January 2004 and bottled on 8 June 2023, it’s a peated highland whisky from an undisclosed distillery.
- Blended Malt 6 Years Old 2017 (59.1%, Refill American hogshead): Distilled on 16 March 2017 and bottled on 14 June 2023, described as a “lively, fun expression” from an undisclosed Campbeltown distillery.
The new Vintage Reserve and Soho Selection whiskies are now available on the Milroy’s website and in their Soho store.
