Bacardi and Teeling Whiskey: Crafting a New Legacy in the Spirits World
In a significant development, Bacardi, a privately-owned entity, has opted not to disclose the proportion of its stake in The Teeling Whiskey Company. Despite this investment, founders Jack and Stephen Teeling will retain partial ownership and continue to oversee daily operations.
Bacardi’s Foray into Irish Whiskey June 2017 marked a milestone for Bacardi, headquartered in Bermuda, as they acquired a minority stake in Teeling. This venture represented Bacardi’s inaugural entry into the realm of Irish whiskey.
Teeling’s European Expansion From January 1, 2024, Bacardi will spearhead Teeling’s distribution across the UK, Netherlands, Germany, and Austria. Subsequently, in February, the spirits giant will extend Teeling’s reach to Sweden, followed by an entry into Belgium in March.
Jack Teeling expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We believe that together with Bacardi, we can elevate our brand and company to new heights. Becoming a more integral part of Bacardi’s portfolio of iconic brands and their European distribution network will unlock further potential and wider exposure for Teeling.”
Teeling: Bacardi’s Exclusive Irish Whiskey Brand Teeling has now become the exclusive Irish whiskey in Bacardi’s diverse portfolio, which includes renowned names like Bacardí rum, Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, Patrón Tequila, and Dewar’s Scotch whisky, among others.
Bacardi’s Vision for Teeling Bacardi’s regional president, Ignacio Del Valle, a fifth-generation family member, acknowledged the Teeling family’s bold trust in Bacardi’s expertise, resources, and network. “Our objective is to take Teeling to previously unheard-of heights, collaborating with Jack and Stephen to strengthen the brand’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship and so propelling its future success.”
